I first heard your interview on CBC then went to your blog. Very interesting reading and very well done. Congratulations.

A sad part of our history. It’s almost hard to wrap a person’s head around what these people went through. I’m glad to see though, that these lives lost and their memories are being honoured through their relatives and through mediums such as your blog. We need to know our history.

I too am trying to find my grandfather, he was sent out from Perry River/Island – Cambridge Bay area – late 1950’s or early 60’s. My mom, who is still alive said he went on the plane and never came back – she was orphaned, her mother had died when she was 9 years old. His name was Joseph Elulik or Illulik.
